Reliance Mercury remained in Halifax and fire vehicle manufacture transferred to Halifax alongside tractors and tugs. 1992 Powersafe Industries failed and Reliance Mercury was bought by Trinity Holdings the current owners of Dennis, fire vehicle manufacture ceased. Trinity later purchased Douglas Equipment of Cheltenham manufacturers of aircraft tugs and dock spotters, R.M moved to Cheltenham and merged with Douglas, by 1998 the name Reliance Mercury was dropped.
