De-icing/anti-icing truck on special chassis

The Tempest-i, Aircraft Deicer is a deicing and anti-icing vehicle used in airline operations. This vehicle is equipped with a diesel engine that drives hydraulic pumps that power the hydrostatic transmission of the vehicle, boom operation and other functions.
Controls for the vehicle systems and boom operation are located in the driver’s cabin and the enclosed basket.
This vehicle is provided with enclosed basket for deicing and anti-icing operations.

CHASSIS
Vehicle components are mounted on a heavy-duty steel chassis specifically designed for the Tempest-i. Access to pumps, heater and tanks, as well as fluid, hydraulic and electrical systems components is possible through doors on both sides and rear of the vehicle. The power module at the rear of the vehicle has two walk-in doors, allowing standing inside for service purposes. The drive system is disabled when the power module access doors are open, deactivating propulsion in either direction.

The boom system hydraulically lifts the operator’s basket to the desired height for deicing the engine. Boom controls are mounted inside the driver’s cab and in the operator’s basket.
